This page says exactly what this site collects, and what it does not. Effective 25 July 2026.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to see which reviews get read. It sets cookies and is operated by Google, which processes the data in the United States. It does not run unless you agree to it. On your first visit you are asked; until you choose Accept, nothing is requested from Google at all. Declining costs you nothing — the site behaves identically either way, and you will not be asked again on that browser.

What this site does not do

No advertising, no ad networks, no cross-site tracking, no data sales, no accounts, and no profiling. Nothing here builds a picture of you as an individual.

Your location

The map has a Find places near me button. It only ever runs when you press it — this site never asks for your location automatically, and never asks at all unless you use that button.

When you do press it, your browser asks your permission, and if you agree it hands the coordinate to the page. That coordinate never leaves your device. The list of places has already been downloaded with the page, so the distances are worked out in your own browser. Nothing is sent to us, nothing is sent to anyone else, and nothing is stored — reload the page and it is gone.

Maps

Map images come from OpenStreetMap. On any page showing a map, your browser fetches those tiles directly from openstreetmap.org, which means your IP address reaches them as it would with any website you visit. That is a third party we do not control; their handling is covered by the OpenStreetMap privacy policy. Pages without a map make no such request.

Your appearance choice

The System / Light / Dark setting is saved in your own browser's local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. It stays on that device, is not synced, and is not sent anywhere.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes requests — including IP addresses — in order to deliver pages. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Other people's details

Some reviews quote a café's own published contact details, as they appeared when the review was written. Those belong to the businesses, not to this site.
